ESL Rolls into Kentucky Speedway for Race Five of the Season

By Kent Whitaker
The ESL eSports NASCAR Series has put Charlotte Motor Speedway in the rearview mirror. Next up is a trip to Kentucky Speedway for a sunset green flag start and what should be a 100 lap thriller. The race will be the fifth of the season which so far has had four different winners.
The season opened with Casper Hagelskaer taking the checkered flag at Daytona. David Dunwoody followed with a win at Kansas Motor Speedway then Brian Delp Jr. made the trip to victory lane at Michigan. Ayden Davis became the fourth different driver to win this season with a solid win at Charlotte Motor Speedway last week.
Even with four different drivers heading to victory lane this year, there is another name atop the points list. Austin Knight heads into Kentucky riding to the top of the list without a win but an impressive collection of stats making him the leader.
Knight has been perhaps the most consistent driver all season amassing four top-five and top-ten finishes. His most impressive stat leans on his ability to finish upfront. His average start is 7th with an average finish of 3rd following Charlotte.
At Daytona and Kansas, he finished 2nd for both races and finished in the second position again last week at Charlotte. He fell outside of the top-three with a fourth-place run two-weeks ago at Michigan.
Following the Kentucky race weekend, the ESL NASCAR Series will head to Watkins Glen for a 35 lap road course event on October 15th.
