AJ Striker shines, while Kyle Storm holds on!

Coming into Friday’s SLM race the Focus was on the 2 way battle between Kyle Storm (EP!C) and and Al Andretti (WCI) for the season championship. Kyle came into the race with a 20 point lead and just needing to keep near Al to secure the title. Stages 1 and 2 had Kyle in front of Al to start, but a bad pit stop going into Stage 3 but Kyle in 15th while Al was in 7th. All Al had to do was put a few more positions in-between himself and Kyle, unfortunately he got into some contact after getting the positions that he needed, knocking him back 5 spots. Kyle did what he had to and climbed into the top 10 by the end of the race and becoming the inaugural SLM champ.

Story of the day though was AJ Striker (WCI) getting back to her early season form and dominating the race, leading the last 75 laps after taking the lead in Stage 1. Robert Krohn and Robert Tibbs were the only ones that could get close to her throughout most of the race. The implications this race had on the team standings was pretty large though, with NLR gaining a good amount of points on both EP!C and The Brew Crew. NLR got 2 finishes in the Top 8 while Brew Crew had both driver get put into the wall at different points, finishing in the Bottom 5 along with 1 of EP!C’s drivers.
