Justice Blackwell grabs his first career win on the last lap, as a 3 team race emerges for the Team Championship

With 2 races left on the Nascar Series schedule the closest Individual race took to the track today. Killmonger Vasquez (WCI) came into today’s race with a 5 point lead over Kenny Flourish (NLR). Killmonger left himself with lots of work to do as he wasn’t able to do well in qualifying, starting 21st while Kenny was able to put himself 3rd on the Grid. Early on though, Doug Britton (NLR) made sure the spotlight was on him as he took ahold of the lead and never looked back until the Stage 1 caution flag had come out. He looked strong in stage 2 but went into a turn high, leaving room for someone to come underneath and he unfortunately got sent into the wall. Marking his 4th incident in the last 5 races, a skid that took him from 2nd overall to middle of the pack. Ace Blade (EPIC) would use this moment to work his way up and take Stage 2 from Justice Blackwell (Low Fuel), which would turn out to be the battle for the lead the rest of the race. After battling nearly all of Stage 3 Ace would slam the door on Justice using a lapped car to force him to check up and fall into second. It looked like this move sealed the deal until on the final lap Justice took a perfect exit off Turn 2 onto the Back stretch and drove past Ace, not giving Ace enough time to respond before the checkered flag!

Kenny Flourish was a steady driver all day, managing to stay clean and using decent pit stops to keep himself in the Top 10 the whole race. During the chaotic middle part of the race he stayed out of trouble and didn’t look to be pushing it too much, until he fought back to the Top 5 and challenging the Top 3 at times. Killmonger on the other hand was always trying to battle from the back of the pack, whether due to a bad run in qualifying or his pit crew not having good stops and putting him near 30s on a couple of the restarts. Unfortunately for Killmonger his run for the Crown fell 1 race short sliding to 3rd after todays result. Brogan Speraw was able to take 2nd on the Season, and Kenny Flourish completed his run for the crown that he started early this season.

Northern Lights came into the week with a 22 point lead in the Team Standings, after 3 races they have extended their lead to 39 points over the Brew Crew and 48 points over EP!C. However they head into their weakest series on Sunday, as they have never won a race in the Nascar Series itself. The Brew Crew have been the most dominant team in Nascar earning almost 100 points more than the 2nd best team in that series. JandK isn’t technically eliminated, but needing 82 points and to pass 3 other teams is a long shot. The races on Sunday are always the least predictable and with that chaos can come some massive upsets. Everyone will be counting points during and after the race on Sunday until the Commissioner announces the winner!
