The REAL Drivers of the ESL Brayden Goddard

The REAL Drivers of the ESL Brayden Goddard

First up: Brayden Goddard #038 SLM series – Designer: #bg designs, LLM (Limited Late Model) Driver

AA – Brayden, thanks for taking time out to answer a few questions. First up: How long have you been racing and how did you get started?
BG – last season was my first season racing but I’ve been practicing since 2018. I got into racing because my uncle and grandpa had been racing for years.

AA – I understand that you drive LLM. For the casual Sim racer such as myself, what’s the difference between LLM and SLM?
BG – well for one Super Late Models you have to have a lot of throttle control and quick reaction time. A SLM can snap loose in the blink of an eye. With Limited Late Model they will still snap loose on you but you have more time to react.

AA – I know nothing compares to the real thing, but do you get a little excited before a Sim race? How does it compare to the rush of a real race?
BG – yes I do! Sim racing is a great way to practice for the real thing so I treat it like the real thing therefore I get those pre-race jitters still.

AA – Are there some tracks (or maybe just one of the turns of a track) on the Sim circuit that brings back bad (or good) memories?
BG – turn 3 and 4 of South Boston bring back good memories from my first Sim win. I don’t have any of our local tracks to run on iRacing.

AA – What advice would you give an up and coming driver, or some kid who dreams of being a real driver?
BG – turn lap after lap and don’t stop. That’s the best way how to learn to race. And don’t give up, dream big. The bigger you dream the more determined you are.

AA – Last question Brayden. In your experience as a LLM Driver, what improvements (or changes) would you like to see in our Sim that, in your opinion, would enhance the SLM Sim?
BG – the only thing I would like to see is more short tracks. Sim racing is the closest you’ll get to real racing.
